Frequently Asked Questions
My Velux is broken can it be repaired?
Unfortunately - Velux blinds cannot be repaired.
Can you help with my Velux window?
No I am afraid we only deal with Velux Blinds. If you have a problem with your Velux window, we recommend you contact a window company.
Do Velux blinds help with heat?
Yes, same as any blind it will help keep some of the heat in, the blackout blinds will help keep more in when protecting your window than the translucent due to the thicker fabric used.
Can you put a Velux blind on a normal window?
No, you cannot put a Velux blind on a normal window. If you are looking for a similar effect for a standard window No Screw Blinds may be the option, you are looking for. Give us a call on 01202 741671 for more information.
Can you clean a Velux blind?
Typically, there is no need to clean them as all Velux roller blinds are specially treated to repel dirt and dust thanks to their wear-resistant design. If you do need to give it a clean a damp cloth with water only is all we would recommend. We do not advise putting any harsh chemicals on your blind.
How do I read my window code?
Before we can price for a blind for your skylight window we will need to identify who makes it and the size code. We are more than happy to help you with this, but the information and code will be located on a plate on the inside edge of the window frame.
I have a window which isn’t Velux can I still have a blind fitted?
Yes! That’s the joy of having this alternative to the Velux windows and blinds. You can check out our Skylight Section or give us a call and we will happily organise a no-obligation appointment for someone to come over and give you the price.
