What guarantee do you offer on your awnings?
All of our awnings come with a 5 year warranty including on your Somfy motor and awning cloth.
What is a awning valance?
A valance is the pretty bit of fabric which hangs down the front of the awning. A valance does not only look pretty but its function is to block out the sun at certain times of the day.
What is a cassette?
We understand that it's confusing trying to work out what is what, so here is a quick breakdown of what the cassette types mean for our range of awnings. Not all companies are the same.
Our Full Cassette is designed to fully enclose the fabric, arms, and any mechanical parts giving a simple and clean look while protecting against all weathers.
Our Semi or Half Cassette is designed to fully enclose the fabric and any mechanical parts leaving the arms neatly tucked under the cassette.
Our No Cassette is designed to offer no protection to your fabric, arms, or mechanical parts. They are often entry-level awnings which are used in locations where they have protection from overhanging roofs or balconies.
Regardless of which awning you choose, you will still receive the same level of UV protection from the fabric and all cassettes & mechanical parts are made of powder-coated aluminium.
What weather can I use my awning in?
You can use your awning in most weather conditions; there are a few exceptions though. We do not recommend using an awning in strong winds, heavy rain or snow.
Can my awning be repaired?
Like most things, awnings can be repaired but this is depending on their age along with a few other factors. Some awnings share universal parts such as somfy motorisation in which yes we can help with but depending on the awning brand they do not share the same components so we are not always able to help.
Are awnings waterproof?
Yes, our awning fabrics are 100% waterproof. Thanks to their Teflon & Scotch guard coatings they are designed to resist light rain showers. We do not recommend using your awning in strong winds, heavy rain, or snow.
How do I care for my awning?
If your awning is in need of some TLC please only use a clean cloth & water. We do not recommend you use any detergents or chemicals as this can damage the Teflon & Scotch guard water-repellent properties of your awning fabric and anything containing bleach can stain your awning fabric.
How do I remove my valance?

Do you offer a replacement motor service?
Yes! We offer a replacement awning motor service for Somfy motorised awnings.
Do I need planning permission for an awning?
For most residential & commercial properties, you do not require planning permission. If you live in a block of flats you may have to get their approval before purchasing an awning. If you are thinking of having an awning installed on a listed building then you may need to seek planning permission.
What is the maximum wind speed my awning can withstand?
Unfortunately, it is impossible to say exactly how strong an awning is against the wind as there are many factors involved, so if you live in a area that is normally windy or would like peace of mind we would recommend installing a wind or sun and wind sensor.
Can you replace a fabric on a existing awning?
Yes we can depending on the age and condition of your awning. If we do not feel it is economic to replace the fabric or your awning is unsafe then our team will discuss other alternatives with you.
