This does depend on the amount of space between the venetian or shutters and the window. We would not confidentially like to say without viewing the window for ourselves.

Yes, unless you go for a full blackout roller blind system with side channels you will get light leakage. We will always minimise this where possible, but it is something that is likely to happen.
